Product Description
ASR Plasma Eye-and-Eye Slings are designed and built to exacting standards via an ISO-9001:2015 Certified Production Process. Made from Ultra High Strength Plasma® Rope and featuring either Cordura Sleeved eyes or incredibly durable Hard Dipped eyes, our 1-1/2" Plasma Sling features an MTS (Mean Tensile Strength, aka Minimum Breaking Strength) of 221,000 lbs and a 44,200 lb Working Load Limit. Key features of ASR Plasma Slings include:
High Quality Materials: This sling is made from Plasma® rope, a member of the Ultra High Molecular Weight PolyEthylene (UHMWPE) family. How strong is it? With a yield strength of 2.4 GPa (348,090+ psi), it has the same Tensile Strength as high carbon/high strength steel. However, because of Plasma’s extremely low density (it is very light), it has a strength-to-weight ratio 8 time higher than high strength steel! This is why Plasma easily floats. Plasma is Made in the USA.
Increased Safety: Plasma® rope, with a much lower per-inch weight than an equivalent steel cable, will carry far less kinetic energy in the event of a failure. This means decreased risk of equipment or personal injury due to a broken rope.
Easier to Use: Given that Plasma lines are just as strong as steel cable yet 8X lighter, ASR Plasma Slings are easier to carry and store, easier to spool and unspool, and even float on water. These are noticeable benefits when manually working with larger slings.
All 1-1/2" ASR Plasma Rope Slings come standard with:
- 221,000 lb MTS, 44,200 lb WLL.
- Plasma® 12 Strand Rope Construction.
- Either Cordura or Hard Dipped eyes.
- Individually serialized tags containing all pertinent strength and construction data.
- 5:1 Safety Factor compliant with overhead lifting requirements.
